It seems that that the vmPFC calculate the valuse of different options that are comming from the dlPFC[1][2].

The vmPFC is also connected to self control[3]. Patients with damage to their ventromedial prefrontal cortex (vmPFC) are less averse to uncertainty than healthy counterparts[4][5]. So it seems that vmPFC inhibits impulsive behiviour.

ventral mPFC might be involved in affective processes associated with compassion to the suffering opponent[6]..

vmPFC may be innvolved in religious foundementalisem[7].

PFC seems to be controlled in the vmPFC (as was written in a summary of an article in Haaretz (Hebrew))
